Stop Breathing So Hard

I’m reading a wonderful book right now which encourages us to breathe less. Often we are breathing more than we need or deeper than we need suggests James Nestor in his book Breath: the new science of a lost art. It talks about how most, if not all, of the major religious prayers that we speak encourage a natural rhythm to them that are universal. No matter where in the world the prayer was being spoken, the rhythmic verse of these ancient texts, universally, all fell into a sync that is perfectly attuned to the most optimal timing of how our body best responds to receiving our breath. Yes, our breath! The syllables, the pause, the syllables, the pause…rests us in our deepest, calmest, most peaceful place in body and mind! The author shares, “yes, indeed, prayers heal.”

A while back I went to a Dead and Company concert out in South Carolina. I was not a huge fan of theirs, I’d never even heard of them but what I really noticed was the way the entire crowd of all branches: the surbanites, the old, the young, the ne’er do wells, including the ones I went with, was actually an attunement. The shape of the music, the way it climbed and dropped, and rebuilt again, was uniting us as a people, vibrationally. It was one of the most powerful moments of my life. The song Sugaree (in my memory lasted about 20-30 minutes), the people I was with had left me, and here alone, in a crowd of strangers, under a perfectly starry sky, a portal in my awareness was opened of how truly strong a vibration can be, how it feels when a current is relentless, and how powerful it is to be powerless within a crowd of others, riding and surrendering right alongside with you, lifting and falling with you every single step of the way, I touched home. And I knew I’d never be the same.

And, for you too, my dear.
Breathe.

Slow it down.

Ride the waves of your moment and savor each drop.

Attune to your own deep inner knowing.

Welcome yourself there with “I’m home”.

And, may it be of benefit.

Much Love,

Kim
